What is a Non Woven Wallcovering?

A non woven wallcovering is a product, which fits halfway between a paper and a fabric. A non woven tends to have a more luxury ‘feel and touch’ because it contains synthetic fibres. ‘More like a fabric,’ is often said. Non woven wallcoverings are suitable for ‘paste the wall’ application and are easily strippable.

What does ‘Paste the Wall’ mean?

The decorator should paste the wall and not the back of the wallcovering. Using ‘paste the wall’ wallcoverings could reduce your hanging time in half. There is no need to soak the wallcovering prior to hanging, you won’t need to set up a pasting table and there will certainly be less mess and clean up required.

What do the symbols on the wallcoverings label mean?

These symbols can relate to care of your wallcovering, such as washable, others relate to the method of application or hanging direction.

What paste do you recommend for your wallcoverings?

1838 Wallcoverings paste or an equivalent good quality PH neutral, solvent-free, fungicide protected, light grade adhesive should be used. Do not use self-mix adhesives. All purpose and heavy-duty pastes are not suitable.
